HIFU Body Treatments
Depending on the device, cartridge and treatment area, body HIFU may also target small pockets of localised fat. Your consultation will establish whether the aim is skin tightening, body contouring or a combination of both.
Quick answer
Targeted treatment for firmer-looking skin and improved body contours. HIFU stands for High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound. It delivers focused ultrasound energy beneath the skin, creating controlled heat at selected depths to stimulate collagen renewal and improve the appearance of mild to moderate skin laxity.
Which areas can be treated?
Treatment suitability varies by area and depends on the capabilities of our device, tissue depth and your individual assessment.
- Abdomen and waist: for suitable clients concerned about loose-looking skin or small, localised pockets of fat around the stomach and waist.
- Flanks: to help improve the contour of the sides of the waist, often called love handles.
- Upper arms: to address mild to moderate skin laxity around the upper arms.
- Thighs: selected areas of the inner and outer thighs, depending on skin condition and tissue thickness.
- Above the knees: for suitable areas of loose or crepey-looking skin, following careful assessment.
- Back and bra-line area: selected pockets of tissue around the back and bra line may be suitable for body contouring.
How does it work?
HIFU delivers energy to precise depths beneath the skin while leaving the surface intact. The resulting heat triggers a tissue-repair response, encouraging collagen remodelling over the following weeks and months.
Skin-tightening and fat-targeting treatments use different approaches. We select the appropriate treatment according to your anatomy, goals and the manufacturer’s protocol.
Who is it suitable for?
HIFU may suit adults with mild to moderate skin laxity or small areas of localised fat who want a non-surgical treatment.
It is not a weight-loss treatment and cannot remove substantial excess skin. Clients with significant skin laxity may need a different approach to achieve their goals.
What does treatment feel like?
You may feel warmth, tingling or brief, deeper sensations as the energy is delivered. Comfort varies between areas and individuals, and we monitor how you feel throughout your appointment.
When will I see results?
Changes develop gradually as the tissue responds. Skin-tightening results are generally assessed over the following two to three months, with further changes possible beyond this.
Results vary, and a course or maintenance treatment may be recommended after reviewing your response.
Is there any downtime?
Most clients can return to normal daily activities shortly afterwards. Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness or bruising can occur. We’ll explain the risks and provide aftercare tailored to your treatment.
Your consultation
We assess your skin, tissue thickness, medical history and treatment goals before recommending HIFU. We’ll explain what it may realistically achieve, discuss alternatives where appropriate and create a personalised treatment plan.
